When creating the Somers & Field collection, Doug and Laura chose to meditate upon the 1960's, otherwise known as "Mod" era. The fashions of the "youthquake," as the movement was called, were fanciful, colorful and most importantly, geared toward the very young. The collection begins with two groovy birds, Willow Somers and Daisy Field. They are the best of friends and live in the center of the mod '60's movement, London, England. Willow is British and Daisy is British/ Hindu. The girls' fathers are co-owners of the popular department store by the same name, "Somers and Field." Willow and Daisy's defiant and debonair wardrobe consists entirely of items from their fathers' department store, from suave shoes and skirts to smashing jewelry and hats. Relive the years that have changed a generation with two hip chicks, Willow and Daisy or as their friends refer to them "The Mod British Birds." Come on board the mod express!
